SUBJ: APPOINTMENT OF DAVID SCHEER TO FILL THE PFEIL VACANCY ON PLANNING COMMISSION AND APPOINTMENT OF GAYE WOLFE TO FILL THE PARSON VACANCY ON PUBLIC ARTS COMMITTEE

Fred Pfeil resigned from the Planning Commission effective November 2, 2006. Gail Parsons resigned from the Public Arts Committee in September, but did not submit a letter. She has not attended any further Committee Meetings.

David Scheer, submitted a Data Sheet for appointment to the Planning Commission. Although he also serves on the Homer Economic Development Commission the City Attorney has reviewed the matter and found no conflict. His term on the Planning Commission will expire July 1, 2007 to finish the Pfeil term. Mr. Scheer may request reappointment for a full three year term.

Gaye Wolfe submitted a Data Sheet for appointment to the Public Arts Committee. Her term on the Public Arts Committee will expire April 1, 2007 to finish the Parson term. Ms. Wolfe may request reappointment for a full three year term..

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm the appointment of David Scheer to the Planning Commission to fill the Pfeil vacancy and Gaye Wolfe to the Public Arts Committee to fill the Parsons vacancy.
