DATE: March 16, 2006
Request to Re-zone from Urban Residential to
Residential Office for:
1. Lot 1, abuts Glacierview
Baptist Church property and fronts on Kallman Rd.
At
the regular meeting held January 18, 2006 the Homer Advisory Planning
Commission held a public hearing on the above referenced rezone. At the regular meeting of March 1, 2006
Commission recommended the City Council approve the requested rezone.
In 2002, the lot line was vacated between Lot 38 and
Lot 37, A.A. Mattox Homer Professional Building Addition, resulting in Lot 37A,
a 19,459 square foot lot. The zoning
boundary between Urban Residential and Residential Office is on the removed lot
line. This created a lot that is in both the Urban Residential and Residential
Office districts. The applicant is requesting
Residential Office zoning for the entire parcel.
In 1999, a lot line was vacated, resulting in Lot
12-A, A.A. Mattox No. 8, which is a 2.15 acre parcel occupied by Glacierview
Baptist Church. The zoning boundary
between Urban Residential and Residential Office is on the removed lot
line. This created a lot that is in
both the Urban Residential and Residential Office districts. The applicant is requesting Residential
Office zoning for the entire parcel.
Glacierview Baptist Church recently purchased Lot 1,
A.A. Mattox Sub. No. 8, which is a 0.28 acre parcel. Glacierview Baptist Church
is requesting this lot be included in the rezone to provide uniform zoning to
all the church facilities.
Recommendation:
The
Homer Advisory Planning Commission recommends the Homer City Council adopt the
ordinance and amend the Zoning Map.
