Re: Homer & Kachemak City Community Wildfire Protection Plan

The Community Wildfire Protection Plan for Homer and Kachemak City has been completed and is ready to be accepted by the City. This plan is merely the framework of another portion of our overall Hazard Mitigation Plan and will need to be revised as conditions and needs warrant. Acceptance of the plan does not restrict the fire departments ability to respond to or combat wildfire or obligate the City of Homer in any way, other than to support the planning efforts to identify areas at risk and to participate in the process. Overall the plan looks good and may assist us in securing grant monies for wildfire mitigation purposes.
