SUBJ: APPOINTMENT OF GLOBAL WARMING TASK FORCE MEMBERS
I am appointing John Calhoun(Chair for first meeting), Thorey Munro, Alan
Parks, John Lemons, Neil R. Wagner, Dan Lush, Daniel L. Boone, Michael Neece,
Sydney Fell, Doug Stark, Clancy Hughes, Sue Mauger and Pete Wedin to the Global
Warming Task Force.
Council approved establishing this Task Force via Resolution 06-141(A) on
January 8, 2007.
The Task Force shall provide a final report, with recommendations, to the
City Council no later than December 30, 2007.
The Task Force has the responsibility of studying and making recommendations
to the City on ways to plan for and mitigate the impacts of climate change on
the City's economy, infrastructure, future development, and methods the City
can employ to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases.
The Task Force will disband upon submittal of the final report.
I suggest that this Task Force meet during the work day rather than
conducting evening or weekend meetings. First meeting will be held Friday,
January 26, 2007 at 3:45 p.m. The Task Force can certainly set their own
meeting schedule. John Calhoun will Chair the first meeting until a new Chair
and Vice Chair are elected, which will be an item on the first meeting agenda.
RECOMMENDATION:
Confirm the Appointments of John Calhoun (Chair for first meeting), Thorey
Munro, Alan Parks, John Lemons, Neil R. Wagner, Dan Lush, Daniel L. Boone,
Michael Neece, Sydney Fell, Doug Stark, Clancy Hughes, Sue Mauger and Pete
Wedin to the Global Warming Task Force.
