SUBJECT: CHANGE PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS BY COUNCIL TO PUBLIC VOTE AT GENERAL ELECTION.

Councilmember Heimbuch requested discussion on changing membership on the Planning Commission from appointments ratified by Council to seating by public vote during a General Election. The topic was discussed at the August 13, 2007 Committee of the Whole.

Councilmember Heimbuch requests the City Attorney to begin drafting language for such a change.

RECOMMENDATION:

Voice approval of Memorandum 07-132 to forward changes in Planning Commission appointments to the City Attorney to begin drafting ordinance language.
