SUBJECT: TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION FOR MAYOR'S ATTENDANCE AT THE UNITED STATES CONFERENCE OF MAYORS/CITY OF SEATTLE NATIONAL CLIMATE PROTECTION SUMMIT FOR MAYORS NOVEMBER 1 – 2, 2007.

Mayor Hornaday would like to attend the United States Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Workshop in Seattle, Washington November 1 – 2, 2007.

This Conference Summit will bring together mayors, national elected officials, developers and business leaders, and experts from across the country to discuss strategies to measure and attain the goals of reducing climate pollution in our cities.

Round Trip airfare from Homer to Seattle is estimated $488. Room rates are estimated $259.00 per night. Per diem is $53.00 per day, for three meals.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the requested authorization.

Fiscal Note: Mayor and Council: 2007 Budget: 100.100.5236, Transportation: $13,500.00 and 100.100.5237, Subsistence: $6,000.00.
