Re: Garage Door Replacement, Final Phase
In 2005 the fire department was able to replace the
original wooden doors along the front of the station with new, energy efficient
insulated doors. The 2007 Approved Budget funds the replacement of the 3 doors
remaining in the rear of the building. As the front doors are Wayne Dalton
doors and openers we would obviously like to stay with the same
brand/manufacturer for the remaining garage doors. Maintenance would be much
easier to perform if the doors were similar with the same parts and mechanisms
to operate them. As SBS was the successful bidder for the first phase of this
project I have contacted them again for a proposal to replace the remaining
rear garage doors. The quote from SBS totaled $12,780 for the remaining doors
and installation. The approved budget is for $20,000. Based on the need to
remain consistent with regards to types of doors and openers and the fact that
the doors from phase I have been trouble free the fire department would like to
proceed with the purchase and installation of the remaining doors from SBS.
