Subject: SMALL CRAWLER~DOZER PURCHASE

Discussion

The approved 2007 Public Works budget includes $90,000 for the procurement of a new wide pad crawler ~ dozer. Requests for bids were provided to Craig Taylor Equipment Co., Soldotna; Airport Equipment Rentals, Inc., Soldotna; and N.C. Machinery, Inc., Anchorage with bids due by 2:00 p.m. March 14, 2007.

On March 14, 2007 bids were opened from the three suppliers. All bids submitted met or exceeded the required machine specifications. The bid results are.

· Craig Taylor Equipment Co., Soldotna $ 83,871.00 Komatsu D37PX-21

· Airport Equipment Rentals, Inc., Soldotna $ 103,895.00 John Deere 550J

· N.C. Machinery, Inc., Anchorage $ 98,750.00 Cat D5G

Recommendation

Award the purchase of the budgeted Crawler ~ Dozer to Craig Taylor Equipment Co., 44170 K' Beach Rd., Soldotna, AK 99669-9728 in the total amount of $ 83,871.00.
