SUBJECT:      PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMISSION APPOINTMENT OF TEENA GARAY, PUBLIC ARTS COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS OF HOPE FINKELSTEIN AND KARIN MARKS, PERMANENT FUND COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT OF JO JOHNSON AND CITY HALL – TOWN CENTER PLAZA REVIEW COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS OF BUMPPO BREMICKER, LANE CHESLEY, DEROTHA FERRARO, RICK FOSTER, RENEE KRAUSE, ANNIE MCGREENERY, ANGIE NEWBY AND BARBARA SEAMAN. .

Teena Garay is appointed to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission to replace outgoing Commissioner Howard with a term expiring October 31, 2008.

Hope Finkelstein is appointed to the Public Arts Committee to replace outgoing member Asia Freeman with a term expiring April 28, 2009.

Karin Marks is appointed to the Public Arts Committee to replace outgoing member Ron Senungetuk for a two-year term expiring April 28, 2009.

Jo Johnson is appointed to the Permanent Fund Committee to replace outgoing member Mary Calhoun. 

Appointments to the Town Center Plaza Review Committee include:

* Parks and Recreation Advisory Commissioners Bumppo Bremicker and Annie McGreenery.

* Planning Commissioners Lane Chesley and Rick Foster.

* Former Town Center Development Committee Members Derotha Ferraro and Barbara Seaman.

* Public at large Renee Krause and Angie Newby.

I wish to stress that all applicants for appointment and/or reappointment are qualified and very much appreciated.

RECOMMENDATION:

Confirm the appointment of Teena Garay to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, the appointments of Hope Finkelstein and Karin Marks to the Public Arts Committee, the appointment of Jo Johnson to the Permanent Fund Committee, and the appointments of Bumppo Bremicker, Lane Chesley, Derotha Ferraro, Rick Foster, Renee Krause, Annie McGreenery, Angie Newby and Barbara Seaman to the City Hall - Town Center Plaza Review Committee.
