SUBJECT:       TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION FOR TWO COUNCILMEMBERS TO                                  ATTEND PEBBLE LTD. PARTNERSHIP REGIONAL LEADERS                               MEETING IN ANCHORAGE, ALASKA MARCH 5, 2008.

 

The City has received an invitation from Pebble Ltd. Partnership (PLP) to send two delegates to attend a one-day information meeting in Anchorage. The meeting is titled a Regional Leaders Meeting. I have asked that this be placed on the Committee of the Whole Agenda for discussion and consideration for action at the regular meeting on February 25, 2008.

 

A copy of the invitation and agenda are attached.           

 

The City of Homer Procurement Policy and Procedures Manual, page 50, sets for the procedure for Travel Authorization for Mayor, Council and City Manager. Travel authorization is required for trips exceeding $250 total estimated cost.

 

Round Trip Air fare is approximately $200.00. Room rates are approximately $110 per night. Per diem is $58.00 per day, for three meals.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the requested authorization.
