SUBJECT: Recommendation from the Homer Advisory Planning Commission for Homer Spit Comprehensive Plan Update
At the regular meeting held on
The Homer Spit Comprehensive Plan was updated
in part in 1999. The Spit was not
included in the 2007 Comprehensive Plan.
The last comprehensive planning
effort for the Spit was done in the mid 80’s and was incorporated into the 1989
Homer Comprehensive Plan.
The economy of Homer and the role the Spit
plays in the economy have changed a lot since the 1980s. Uses on the Spit have evolved. An
updated plan for the Spit is timely.
Recommendation:
The Homer Advisory Planning Commission recommends an initiation of a Homer Spit comprehensive plan update.
