Subject:                          Cell Phone Contract

 

 


A review committee comprised of Public Works Director Carey Meyer, Fire Chief Bob Painter, IT Systems Manager Steve Bambakidis, Finance Director Regina Harville, City Clerk Jo Johnson, Admin Assistant to City Manager Dru Corbin and I met to discuss three proposals submitted in response to the City of Homer’s RFP for Cell Phone Service.

 

The proposal is based responsiveness to the RFP, customer service and prior experience, equipment and technology, infrastructure, data speeds and signal strength.

 

All seven members ranked the proposals using the same criteria resulting in the highest point total going to GCI.  The other firms were ACS and AT&T.  Copies of the score sheet and all proposals are attached here for your review.

 

Terms of the contract are for services for two (2) years.  We anticipate that switch will begin within the month after City Council awards and City Manager negotiates the contract.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:  AWARD A CONTRACT FOR CELL PHONE SERVICE TO GCI.
