RE:                  HOMER ENTERPRISES/SPORT SHED PROPOSAL FOR LOT 5

 

Background

 

Homer Enterprises-Sport Shed’s lease for Lot 5 of Amended Homer Spit Subdivision (zoned Marine Commercial) expires with no more options on 4/30/09.  Lot 5 was put out for RFP with a proposal deadline of February 6.  Homer Enterprises submitted a proposal for a new lease, they were the only respondents.   The Lease Committee reviewed this proposal at its February 12, 2009 special meeting and made the following motion and amendment:

 

VELSKO/ABBOUD MOVED THAT CITY MANAGER ENTER INTO NEGOTIATIONS WITH HARBOR ENTERPRISES FOR LOT 5 AKA THE SPORT SHED AND NEGOTIATIONS TO ADDRESS THE NON-CONFORMING RENTAL, EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR RENOVATIONS.

 

ALDERFER/HARVILLE MOVED TO AMEND THE MOTION TO READ, “THAT THE CITY MANAGER ENTER INTO LEASE NEGOTIATIONS PURSUANT TO EXISTING PROPERTY MANAGEMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.  SPECIFICALLY CHAPTER 17, PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND CHAPTER 11, REGARDING TYPICAL LEASE TERMS NOT EXCEEDING THIRTY YEARS.”

 

Vote.  (Amendment) YES. NON-OBJECTION. UNANIMOUS CONSENT

Motion carried

 

Chair Erickson requested the Clerk to read the amended motion.

 

MOVE THE CITY MANAGER ENTER INTO NEGOTIATIONS WITH HARBOR ENTERPRISES FOR LOT 5, AKA THE SPORT SHED PURSUANT TO EXISTING PROPERTY MANAGEMENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES; SPECIFICALLY CHAPTER 17, PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND CHAPTER 11, REGARDING TYPICAL LEASE TERMS NOT EXCEEDING THIRTY YEARS AND NEGOTIATIONS TO ADDRESS NON-CONFORMING RENTAL AND RENOVATIONS.

 

Vote (Main) YES. NON-OBJECTION. UNANIMOUS CONSENT.

Motion carried.

 

Recommendation

 

Authorize the City Manager to enter into lease negotiations with Homer Enterprises/Sport Shed.
