SUBJECT: Bishop’s Beach Shelter Repair

Below is a cost estimate to repair the shelter at Bishop’s Beach. The estimate is based on:

1) Lifting off the existing roof portion of the structure $ 4,500

2) Remove existing log support columns $ 1,500

3) Auger in new treated timer columns or drive new steel pile supports, $12,500

4) Replace horizontal support beams (2) $ 5,000

5) Lift existing roof back onto the new supports and bolt down. $ 4,500

Construction Cost $28,000

Bidding $ 3,500

Contingency (15%) $ 5,000

Total Project Cost $36,500

Recommendation: By ordinance, appropriate $36,500 from the Parks and Recreation Reserve Account for the repair of the Bishop’s Beach Shelter and authorize the City Manager to execute all appropriate documents (including construction contracts and purchase orders).
