Background:

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission has had a vacancy since 2007. During the past winter, several of the Commissioners were unable to attend meetings due to conflicting work schedules and requirements to be out of the state for extended periods. Recently another Commissioner has tendered their resignation due to personal reasons. This has resulted in no meetings for six months due to lack of a quorum.

A copy of the meeting minutes from the May 21, 2009 and June 18, 2009 where discussion, recommendation and approval was made by the Commissioners to change the meeting frequency is attached.

Recommendation

Recommend approval of the proposed changes to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission Bylaws and Homer City Code Chapter 1.74.030
