Session 05-13, a Special Meeting of the Homer City Council was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor James
C. Hornaday at the Homer City Hall Council Chambers located at 491 E Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska, and
opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

The City Council met as a Committee of the Whole from 4:02 p.m. to 4:46 p.m. regarding the Regular Agenda
Items.

A. Memorandum 05-92, from City Clerk, Re: Request for Executive Session AS 44.62.310(C)(1), Matters, the
Immediate Knowledge of Which Would Clearly Have an Adverse Effect Upon the Finances of the Government
Unit and Attorney-Client Privilege. (Hospital Land Negotiations and Ocean Drive Loop Bluff Erosion Control -
Litigation Matters.) If approved, conduct immediately.
Recommendation: Approve request for Executive Session and conduct immediately in the Conference Room.
STARK/YOURKOWSKI - MOVED FOR EXECUTIVE SESSION BY READING OF TITLE.
There was no discussion.
VOTE: YES: McLAY, WYTHE, YOURKOWSKI, STARK, NOVAK, HEIMBUCH.
Motion carried.
Mayor Hornaday recessed the Special Meeting to go into Executive Session in the Conference Room at 5:32.5 p.m. and reconvened the Special Meeting at 6:49 p.m.
Statement for the record: Mayor Pro Tempore Yourkowski stated that the Mayor and Council met in Executive
Session with the City Attorney and gave him instructions on mediation proposals regarding the Seawall (Ocean
Drive Loop Bluff Erosion Control) and that they discussed alternatives available for settling property owner
issues that have surfaced in the Hospital Expansion Project.

There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m. The Regular
Meeting follows at 7 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 13, 2005 at 7 p.m. The next
Committee of the Whole is scheduled for Monday, June 13, 2005 at 4 p.m. All meeting are scheduled to be held
in the Homer City Hall Cowles Council Chambers located at 491 E. Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska.
