Session 01-20, a Special Meeting of the Homer City Council was called to order at 7:31 p.m. by Mayor Pro Tem Marquardt
at the Homer City Hall Council Chambers located at 491 E Pioneer Avenue, Homer, Alaska, and opened with the Pledge of
Allegiance.
A budget worksession was held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. for a General Overview and Review of the Preliminary 2002
Budget.

The agenda was approved by consensus of the City Council.

There were no public comments.
OATH OF OFFICE
The City Clerk administered the Oath of Office to incumbents, Michael Yourkowski and John Fenske.
COMMENTS OF THE AUDIENCE
There were no audience comments.
COMMENTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY
City Attorney Tans was not present.
COMMENTS OF THE CITY CLERK
City Clerk Calhoun congratulated Councilmembers Yourkowski and Fenske.
COMMENTS OF THE CITY MANAGER
City Manager Drathman congratulated Councilmembers Yourkowski and Fenske.
COMMENTS OF THE MAYOR PRO TEM
Mayor Pro Tem Marquardt echoed the congratulations. He relayed his knowledge that both of the re elected
Councilmembers have projects that they each want to see completed and that he is glad that they will have another three
years worth of opportunity. He also voiced his appreciation that both of them signed up for another stint.
COMMENTS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
Councilmember Kranich also offered congratulations and advised that he feels that they have a good working group. He
commented that although there are many different view points the Council seems to work through to a decision on most
items and to the best interest of the community. He stated that he looks forward to being here until 2003. He concluded by
saying that this was a good meeting.
Councilmember Cue dittoed the comments about Councilmembers Yourkowski and Fenske and that she looks forward to
working with them. She stated that she is very happy that they are going to be here another three years, which is a real
benefit to the community.
Councilmembers Yourkowski and Fenske had no comments.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting was adjourned at 7:38. The next regular meeting is
scheduled for Monday, October 22, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. in the Homer City Hall Council Chambers. The Committee of the
Whole meeting is canceled and a budget worksession will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2001. A Budget
Worksession may be scheduled for October 29, 2001 at 6 p.m.
