AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A GRANT OF $14,664.00 FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA HIGHWAY SAFETY PLANNING AGENCY FOR THE TRAFFIC SAFETY SATURATION PATROL PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, the State of Alaska Highway Safety Planning Agency has granted the City of Homer $14,664 for the Traffic Safety Saturation Patrol Project; and

WHEREAS, the City of Homer's match is in kind Dispatcher and Administration hours and Patrol vehicle use for an amount of $8,032.70; and

WHEREAS, the execution of an Agreement by and between the State of Alaska Highway Safety Planning Agency is a part of this grant receipt.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:

Section 1. That the grant award from the State of Alaska Highway Safety Planning Agency in the amount of $14,664 is hereby accepted and that the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

Section 2. The sum of $14,664.00 is hereby appropriated to the following account in the respective amount:

Section 3. A copy of the budget shall be certified by the City Clerk and filed in the Office of the City Clerk.

Section 4. This ordinance is limited to approval of the budget and appropriations for Calendar Year 2000 and shall not be included in the City Code.

Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon enactment.
