AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A MATCHING GRANT OF $52,500.00 FOR THE HOMER ANIMAL SHELTER AND $49,689.00 FOR THE HOMER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA DIVISION OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (DCED), APPROPRIATING THE LOCAL MATCH AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, Council adopted Resolution 99-82(A) endorsing the FY2001 Municipal Capital, Project Matching Grant for the Animal Shelter and Chamber of Commerce and noting the estimated local share; and

WHEREAS, the matching grant has been received in the amount of $52,500 for the Animal Shelter and $49,689 for the Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, the local share required for the Animal Shelter is $16,036 and for the Chamber of Commerce is $15,178; and

WHEREAS, the match for the Animal Shelter will be allocated from the General Fund and the match for Chamber of Commerce will be allocated by the Chamber of Commerce.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:

Section 1. That the matching grant award from the State of Alaska DCED in the amounts of $52,500 and $49,689 are hereby accepted and that the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

Section 2. The grant of $52,500.00 is hereby appropriated to the following account in the respective amount and the match is hereby appropriated:
