AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $46,600 FROM THE WATER AND SEWER FLEET RESERVE FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO 4X4 PICKUP TRUCKS FROM TONY CHEVROLET OF ANCHORAGE, ALASKA FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE THIS PURCHASE AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Homer's 2000 Budget for the Water and Sewer Fleet Reserve fund has a balance of $192,066; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department needs to purchase two pickup trucks Tony Chevrolet of Anchorage, Alaska advertised these vehicles for $23,300 instead of the estimated $30,000 figure and this purchase is fiscally wise and cost effective; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department budgeted for two pickup trucks in the CY 2001 budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends appropriating the funds from the CY 2000 budget as an advance on the CY 2001 budget; and
WHEREAS, to hold the purchase of these two trucks the City Manager made a down payment of $250 each.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:
Section 1. That $46,600 is appropriated from the Water and Sewer Fleet Reserve Fund for the purchase of two trucks for the Public Works Department to the following account:

Section 3 This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
