ORDINANCE 02-01
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING AN
ALASKA HIGHWAY SAFETY GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,271.00, APPROPRIATING THE CITY'S MATCH
OF $2,919.00 TO PURCHASE A SPEED MONITORING TRAILER AND FIVE HAND HELD RADAR UNITS AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Homer Police Department applied for and received a grant from the Alaska Department of Transportation and
Public Facilities (ADOT/PF), Division of Statewide Planning Highway Safety Office in the amount of $26,271.00 for
speed monitoring equipment; and
WHEREAS, a City match of 10% is required, the total equipment purchase is $29,190, therefore the City's match is
$2,919.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:
Section 1. That this grant is accepted from the ADOT/PF, Highway Safety Office in the amount of $26,271.00 and the
City's match of $2,919.00 is approved and shall be appropriated as follows:

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.
Section 3. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
