ORDINANCE 02-04
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A
GRANT FROM THE ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY DIVISION OF ALASKA STATE TROOPERS
IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,000.00 FOR TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT WITH AN EMPHASIS ON IDENTIFYING
SEATBELT AND CHILD RESTRAINT VIOLATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, The Homer Police Department has received a block of funds, not to exceed $10,000.00 for the traffic
enforcement with an emphasis on identifying seatbelt and child restraint violations; and
WHEREAS, The State of Alaska Department of Public Safety, Division of Alaska State Troopers is granting these funds
for reimbursement of expenditures up to $10,000.00 to municipal law enforcement agencies that wish to participate in the
enforcement of seatbelt usage to support and promote increased seatbelt use rates.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:
Section 1. That this grant is accepted from the Alaska Department of Safety, Division of State Troopers in the amount of
$10,000.00 for reimbursement of expenditures for the traffic enforcement with an emphasis on identifying seatbelt and
child restraint violations to be appropriated as follows; and

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.
Section 3. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
