AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING AMENDMENT NO. 01 TO THE ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FOR THE SOUTH PENINSULA WOMEN'S SERVICES RENOVATION/ADDITION SHELTER PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $36,752.00 FOR THE INSTALLATION OF AN ELEVATOR/LIFT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, the Alaska Department of Community and Economic Development has granted an amendment to the South Peninsula Women's Services Community Block Grant for an additional $36,752.00 for the installation of an elevator/lift; and

WHEREAS, the original Community Development Block Grant was for $70,000.00 for the renovation/addition to the Shelter and the additional $36,752.00 will increase the total allocation to $106,752.00; and

WHEREAS, this is a pass through grant that comes to the City, as the administrator of the grant and the grantee for the South Peninsula Women's Services; and

WHEREAS, the City, as the administrator/grantee must meet the requirements set forth in the grant agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

Section 1. That Amendment No. 1 to the Alaska Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), Community Block Grant (CBD) for the South Peninsula Women’s Services (SPWS) Renovation/Addition Project is hereby accepted and appropriated as a pass through grant in the amount of $36,752.00 for the installation of an elevator/lift.

Revenue and Expenditure Acct 151-729 DCED CBD SPWS $36,752.00

Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents

Section 3. This ordinance is a 2002 budget amendment only and is a non code ordinance.
