ORDINANCE 02-11

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, AMENDING THE HOMER ZONING MAP, PURSUANT TO HOMER CITY CODE SECTION 21.36.020, TO REFLECT THE REZONING OF A PORTION OF THE CITY’S URBAN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO A RESIDENTIAL OFFICE DISTRICT DESIGNATION.

 

WHEREAS, The Homer Advisory Planning Commission initiated an ordinance to rezone a portion of the City of Homer’s Urban Residential  (UR) zone to a Residential Office (RO) zoning designation as per attached Exhibit A; and

 

WHEREAS, The category of “professional office” was eliminated as a permitted use in the Urban Residential zoning district via Ordinance 01-45 enacted by the Homer City Council on October 8, 2001; and

 

WHEREAS, The intention of this ordinance is to adequately provide for the availability of low-density to medium density residential uses and businesses and offices in accordance with Homer City Code Section 21.47, Residential Office District zoning requirements; and

 

WHEREAS, the Homer Advisory Planning Commission held a public hearing on the issue on December 5, 2001 as required by the Homer City Code, Section 21.70.020.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

 

            Section 1. The Homer Zoning Map will be amended as per attached Exhibit A, as to reflect the areas that are to be rezoned from an Urban Residential District (UR) designation to a Residential Office (RO) zoning designation; and

 

            Section 2. The City Clerk is authorized to sign the map and adhere to the requirements set as set forth in Homer City Code Section  21.36.020; and

 

            Section 3. This is a non-code ordinance and shall be duly noted in the ordinance table of the City Code.
