AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $4,940 FOR THE CITY OF HOMER'S SHARE OF THE MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE BYRNE MEMORIAL DRUG GRANT FOR FY 2003.

WHEREAS, the City of Homer has supported the Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force approach to the enforcement of drug laws and has participated as an allied member of this Task Force with the communities of Kenai, Seward and Soldotna since June 1998; and

WHEREAS, the project director has advised that the asset forfeitures will not be able to cover the matching fund this year, and;

WHEREAS, City of Homer's share is projected to be $4,940 for FY2003, and;

WHEREAS, $3,562 in seized drug funds is currently held in Account 151-745.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:

Section 1. Hereby appropriating $4930.00 for the City of Homer's share of the matching funds for the Byrne Memorial Drug Grant for FY 2003 as follows:

Section 3. This ordinance is a budget amendment only and is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
