        HOMER, ALASKA                                ORDINANCE 02-26              

 

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER,  APPROPRIATING $20,000.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND FLEET RESERVE FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE USED VEHICLE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.

 

WHEREAS, in the City of Homer's 2002 budget for the Police Department Fleet Reserve fund has a balance of $29,636; and

 

WHEREAS, the police chief’s vehicle is a 1990 Chevy Lumina.  This vehicle is over 11 years old and has reached the point where the cost of maintenance is greater then the cost of a replacement vehicle. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:

 

Section 1. The City Manger is authorized to purchase one used police vehicles funded by the Police Department Fleet Reserve fund in the amount of $20,000.

 

Section 2. The sum of $20,000.00 is hereby appropriated to the following account in the respective amount:

Section 3.         A copy of the budget shall be certified by the City Clerk and filed in the Office of the City Clerk.

 

Section 4.         This ordinance is limited to approval of the budget and appropriations for Calendar Year 2002 and shall not be included in the City Code.

 

Section 5.         This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon enactment.
