ORDINANCE 02-29

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION OF PUBLIC HEALTH GRANT FOR TOBACCO ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,900.00.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, Homer Police Department has been involved in the Tobacco Enforcement Program since 1998; and

WHEREAS, The Tobacco Enforcement Program is essential to help reduce the use of tobacco by minors; and

WHEREAS, This contract for July, 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003 is the first of three contracts renewable by mutual agreement through June 30, 2005.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:

Section 1. That the grant is accepted from the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Division of Public Health in the amount of $3,900.000 and shall be appropriated as follows:

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

Section 3. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
