ORDINANCE 02-36
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $37,000.00 FOR AN UPGRADE OF THE PORT/HARBOR SECOM TWENTY YEAR OLD COMPUTER OPERATING SYSTEM AND SITE SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS.
WHEREAS, The City’s System’s Manager has requested and received a proposal for an upgrade of the Secom twenty year old computer operating system and site specific applications in the amount of $34,419.60; and
WHEREAS, The Secom system includes billing for the usage of the cranes, ice dispensing and ASCII text hand-off to accounting system; and
WHEREAS, The upgrade would add a wireless radio link and new reader panel for remote crane and upgrade card system to proximity access to eliminate cleaning of the reader system;
WHEREAS, Additional estimated expenses for implementation of the upgrade, including tech travel are $2,580.40.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Homer ordains:
Section 1. That $37,000.00 is appropriated for the Port/Harbor Secom Computer Operating System and Site Specific operations upgrade as follows:
