ORDINANCE 02-37

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A FY 2003 CAPITAL PROJECT MATCHING GRANT FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PUBLIC LIBRARY IN THE AMOUNT OF $101,597.00, APPROPRIATING THE CITY MATCH OF $31,508.00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Notice of Grant Award was received on July 25, 2002; and

WHEREAS, The grant received from the State of Alaska Department of Community and Economic Development is in the amount of $101,597.00 for the Public Library; and

WHEREAS, A local match is required for this grant in the amount of $31,508.00 and will be appropriated from the General Fund.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Homer ordains:

Section 1. That the matching grant from the State of Alaska Department of Community and Economic Development is hereby accepted and appropriated as follows for the Public Library.

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.

Section 3. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
