ORDINANCE 02-40
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $35,000.00 FROM THE PUBLIC WORKS FLEET RESERVE FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE 1980 12G CATERPILLAR MOTOR GRADER FROM LARRY HERNDON AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Public Works is in need of an additional grader for the maintenance of gravel roads; and
WHEREAS, Public Works has been using the Herndon 1980 12G Caterpillar Motor Grader to assist with the maintenance of gravel roads; and
WHEREAS, Larry Herndon has offered to sell the grader to the City of Homer for $35,000.00; and
WHEREAS, Public Works states that the grader engine and transmission are sound and that the bushed hinge points are tight;
WHEREAS, The Public Works Fleet Reserve Fund has a balance of $248,253.00 according to the Finance Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:
Section 1. That the appropriation of $35,000.00 from the Public Works Fleet Reserve Fund shall be appropriated as follows:

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents.
Section 3. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
