ORDINANCE 03-31

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A REIMBURSEMENT GRANT OF $6,605.00 FROM THE ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES DIVISION OF MEASUREMENTS AND STANDARDS/COMMERCIAL VEHICLE ENFORCEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT/PF) Division of Measurements and Standards/Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (MS/CVE) will reimburse the Homer Police Department up to $6,605.00 for commercial vehicle inspections; and

WHEREAS, Commercial vehicle enforcement has long been one of the Homer Chief of Police's public safety priorities; and

WHEREAS, Ensuring that commercial vehicles are being operated in compliance with the applicable regulations will improve commercial vehicle safety and,ultimately, public safety in Homer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Homer :

Section 1. That the ADOPT/PF MS/CVE reimbursement grant is hereby accepted and appropriated as follows and that the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents:
