ORDINANCE 03-32(A)

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING $25,000.00 FROM THE ANIMAL SHELTER ACCOUNT TO FORMALIZE THE PLAN FOR CONSTRUCTION AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENT.

WHEREAS, the site for the Animal Shelter has been selected by the City Council; and

WHEREAS, the funds have been acquired to finance the design and construction of the new Homer Animal Shelter; and

WHEREAS, the first of July 2003 will end the sixty-day grace period to locate an alternative site; and

WHEREAS, the plans need to be formalized prior to work beginning; and

WHEREAS, the construction season is well within the timing schedule to get the ground work and sub-structure completed prior to inclement weather; and

WHEREAS, the need for the Shelter can not be stressed enough, to ensure adequate care for animals retained during the coming winter.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Homer City Council:

Section 1. The funds appropriated to formalize the plans, and that the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents as follows:

Section 2. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
