ORDINANCE 03-44

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A GRANT OF ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($167,00.00) FROM THE TRANSPORTATION AND SECURITY ADMINISTRATION (TSA) FOR SECURITY GATES AT THE PORT OF HOMER AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, On February 20, 2003 the Port and Harbor made application for a grant of $250,000.00 for the purposes of meeting the requirements of the USCG NVIC by physically controlling access to the docks in the event of MARSEC Level II or III being declared by the Captain of the Port for Southcentral Alaska; and

WHEREAS, The grant will provide for the construction and installation of security gates at the harbor.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Homer Ordains:

Section 1. That the TSA grant is hereby accepted and appropriated in the amount of one hundred and sixty seven thousand dollars ($167,000.00), as follows and that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents:

Section 2. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
