ORDINANCE 03-46

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING REIMBURSEABLE FUNDS FROM THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD FOR BERTH MODIFICATIONS AT PIONEER DOCK AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The United States Coast Guard (USCG) and the City of Homer are partners in the construction of the Pioneer Dock; and

WHEREAS, The Coast Guard has identified approximately one million three hundred and sixty five thousand dollars worth of improvements that need to be added to the dock face, including additional fenders and continuous tension winches, to facilitate the berthing of theHickory; and

WHEREAS, The USCG has agreed that the cost of these improvements will be paid for by the USCG; and

WHEREAS, The City has agreed to act as the contract manager for the construction of these improvements and has competitively bid the work involved; and

WHEREAS, A lease amendment was approved by City Council via Memorandum 03-50, on the Consent Agenda, Regular Council meeting of April 14, 2003.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Homer Ordains:

Section 1. That the a reimburseable grant from the USCG for approximately one million three hundred and sixty five thousand dollars is accepted and appropriated as follows:
