ORDINANCE 04-09

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL AMENDING HOMER CITY CODE, 1.24.040(D)(1), CITY COUNCIL BYLAWS, TO CHANGE THE REGULAR MEETING TIME FROM SEVEN P.M .TO SIX P.M.

WHEREAS, It is the intent of the Homer City Council to have a cohesive meeting sequence from the Committee of the Whole to the Regular Meeting, and

WHEREAS, A one and a half hour break between the two meetings defuses momentum and energy, causes people to leave, and means others have to come from home later in the evening; and

WHEREAS, City Council members recognize the benefit of keeping up the spirit and momentum of the meetings; and

WHEREAS, it is also desirable to engage in conversation with the public, and have a bite to eat together while having a break between meetings; and

WHEREAS, A 30 minute break allows time to eat and converse while not breaking the flow of the meetings.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

Section 1. That Homer City Code Subsection 1.24.040(d)(1) is hereby amended to read as follows:

d. Regular meetings:
