ORDINANCE 04-29

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A STATE 2004 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT OF $165,146.00 FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE AND MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Homer Police Department has been notified of the award of $165,146.00 from the State Homeland Security Grants Program; and

WHEREAS, This is a cash grant for the purchase of equipment; and

WHEREAS, This grant funds the purchase of explosive device mitigation and remediation equipment, and night vision binoculars for the Police Department; and

WHEREAS, This grant provides funding to replace the emergency generator, generator building and related switches and controls for the police station and the fire station.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Homer :

Section 1. That the State 2004 Homeland Security Grant of $165,146.00 is hereby appropriated as follows and that the Chief of Police and Mayor are authorized to execute the appropriate documents:
