ORDINANCE 04-31





AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA APPROPRIATING $125,725.34 FROM THE HAWSP ACCOUNT 153 FOR THE REIMBURSABLE SERVICES AGREEMENT (RSA) WITH THE ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE BARTLETT/HOHE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE RSA AND ALL OTHER APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The City Council adopted Resolution 00-81, August 28, 2000, supporting the construction of Bartlett/Hohe Rehabilitation and the extension of Bartlett to the South Peninsula Hospital; and

WHEREAS, Via Resolution 00-81 the City agreed to take over the ownership and year round full maintenance of said project; and

WHEREAS, The Memorandum of Agreement between the State of Alaska and City of Homer was executed August 19, 2002, via Council action on Memorandum 02-35 on August 12, 2002; and

WHEREAS, The Alaska Department of Transportation (ADOT) has scheduled Bartlett/Hohe for reconstruction this summer; and

WHEREAS, As part of this reconstruction project ADOT will be replace the City's water mainline on both streets due to the age and pipe material; and

WHEREAS, During this replacement stage of the project the City will be construction some improvements to the system such as stubbing out new services to vacant lots, extending mainlines through intersections for future extensions and installing a pressure reducing vault on Bartlett Street at an estimated cost of $125,725.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Homer :

Section 1. That $125,725.34 is hereby appropriated from the Homer Accelerated Water and Sewer Program (HAWSP) account 153 for the RSA with the ADOT for the Bartlett/Hohe Reconstruction Project and authorizing the City Manager to Execute the RSA ans all other appropriate documents.
