ORDINANCE 04-46

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A USDA COMMUNITY FACILITIES GRANT OF $100,000.00 FOR PLANNING COSTS FOR THE NEW HOMER PUBLIC LIBRARY PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The City of Homer applied for a community facilities grant from the USDA Capital Facilities Grant Program to support project costs for the new Homer Public Library; and

WHEREAS, The City was notified on August 13, 2004 that the grant had been approved; and

WHEREAS, The grant may be used for the services of a professional Architect/Engineer to provide Architectural Design and Engineering services for a new community library building of approximately 16,000 square feet to be constructed for the City of Homer, Alaska.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Homer:

Section 1. That the grant of $100,000.00 from the USDA Capital Facilities Grant Program is hereby appropriated as follows and that the City Manager is authroized to execute the appropriate documents:

Section 2.This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
