ORDINANCE 04-50

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING AN ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, FY 05 MINI GRANT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000.00, APPROPRIATING THE CITY MATCH OF $11,500.00, AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS CONTRIBUTIONS TO FUND A FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR A CONVENTION CENTER AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The City Council approved Memorandum 04-59(A), on April 12, 2004 recommending that the City Manager identify existing fund balances available and appropriate for a Convention Center Feasibility Study and present a funding scenario at the second Council meeting in May; and

WHEREAS, The Council adopted Resolution 04-60 on June 28, 2004, to authorize the application for an Alaska Department of Community and Economic Development, mini grant assistance program funding; and

WHEREAS, The City received notice via a letter dated September 15, 2004 that the $30,000.00 mini grant was approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Homer:

Section 1. That the grant of $30,000.00 from the Alaska Department of Community and Economic Development, FY 05 Mini Grant is hereby accepted and appropriated as follows, that the City Match of $11,500.00 is here by appropriated as follows and that the City Manager is authorized to execute the appropriate documents:
