ORDINANCE 05-23

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING PRIVATE DONATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $690,000.00 FOR THE NEW HOMER PUBLIC LIBRARY PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS AND/OR TRANSFERS.

WHEREAS, The Friends of the Homer Public Library and the Special Library Advisory Board Committees with Staff Assistance have worked diligently on fund raisers to secure private donations for the New Homer Public Library Project; and

WHEREAS, These donated funds have been transferred to the City for the New Library Project; and

WHEREAS, These funds have been held and invested in the Alaska Municipal League Account for the New Library Project.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Homer Ordains:

Section 1. That the City Council hereby accepts and appropriates $690,000.00 in private donations for the New Homer Public Library Project and hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents and/or transfers:

Section 2. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
