ORDINANCE 05-31

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING AN ALASKA DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (DHS&EM) GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $164,047.00 UNDER THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TERRORISM PREVENTION PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Homer Police Department (HPD) has received, on April 29, 2005, a letter of grant award from the State of Alaska, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management under the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program; and

WHEREAS, The performance period is April 26, 2005 to March 31, 2007; and

WHEREAS, The grant is for Equipment: Interoperable Communications Equipment - Digitize Radio System for $47,047.00, Physical Security Enhancement Equipment - Video Surveillance Equipment for $58,000.00 and Emergency Generator Project Completion for $59,000.00.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Homer :

Section 1. That the DHS&EM Grant under Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program in the amount of $164,047.00 is hereby accepted and appropriated as follows and that the City Manager is authorized to execute the grant agreement and other appropriate documents:
