ORDINANCE 05-36

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL RESCINDING ORDINANCE 05-28(A), APPROPRIATING A LOAN OF $575,000.00 FROM THE SPECIAL PROJECTS FUND, ACCOUNT 151-275, TO CONSTRUCT THE NEW HOMER PUBLIC LIBRARY.

WHEREAS, The 2005 State Capital Budget recently approved by the Legislature contains an appropriation of $1 million for the new Homer Public Library; and

WHEREAS, The City Council adopted Ordinance 05-28(A) on May 9, 2005 to appropriate a loan of $575,000.00 from the Special Projects Fund, Account 151-275, to construct the New Homer Public Library and to stipulate that this loan was to be repaid when the current Library Building sold; and

WHEREAS, The loan from the Special Projects Fund is no longer needed due to the anticipated $1 million in new project funding from the State of Alaska.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Homer Ordains:

Section 1. That Ordinance 05-28(A) is hereby rescinded in entirety.

Section 2. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
