ORDINANCE 06-48
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL AMENDING ORDINANCE 06-20(A), AMENDING HOMER CITY ZONING MAP TO REZONE TO A GATEWAY BUSINESS DISTRICT (A SUB DISTRICT OF THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT) PORTIONS OF RURAL RESIDENTIAL (RR) AND PORTIONS OF URBAN RESIDENTIAL (UR) ZONING DISTRICTS FRONTING ON THE STERLING HIGHWAY WEST HILL AREA TO THE SOUTH WEST BOUNDARY OF THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (CBD), TO REFLECT A NEW EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 15, 2006.
WHEREAS, We are engaged in the process of satisfying our concerns on the Central Business District extension; and
WHEREAS, Immediate implementation of ordinance 06-20 is not absolutely critical: and
WHEREAS, The Advisory Planning Commission has worked diligently this summer to develop some Gateway Overlay
standards applicable to the Central Business District extension.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:
Section 1. That the effective date for Ordinance 06-20(A), Amending Homer City Zoning Map to Rezone to a Gateway
Business District (a sub district of the Central Business District) portions of Rural Residential (RR) and portions of
Urban Residential (UR) Zoning Districts fronting on the Sterling Highway and West Hill Area to the South West
Boundary of the Central Business District (CBD), is hereby moved from September 15, 2006 to October 15, 2006.
Section 2. This Ordinance is of a permanent nature and is a non code Ordinance.
