AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING A GRANT FROM THE ALASKA HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE, IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,319.00 FOR HOMER POLICE DEPARTMENT ENHANCED ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

WHEREAS, The Alaska Highway Safety Office (AHSO) Administrator signed off on the Notice to Proceed for this Grant on October 5, 2006; and

WHEREAS, The AHSO grant of $15,319.00 will be used to send a Homer Patrol Officer to Advanced Motor Vehicle Accident Investigation Training, to purchase new accident investigation related equipment, thereby, enhancing the Homer Police Department's abilities to investigate motor vehicle accidents.

NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Homer Ordains:

Section 1. The AHSO Grant of $15,319.00 is hereby accepted and appropriated as follows ans that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents:
