ORDINANCE 07-16
AN ORDINANCE OF THE
WHEREAS,
During the winter senior citizens have on occasion taken pleasure in feeding
crows in the area of Bishop’s Beach City Park; and
WHEREAS,
There is a resident crow population in the City limits; and
WHEREAS,
This winter feeding appears to eliminate some of the need for aggressive feeding
behavior by crows in the Central Business District; and
THEREFORE,
This winter activity linking senior citizens with nature in their later
years should be allowed.
Section 1. A new Section 5 of Chapter 5.38 of the Homer City Code is hereby enacted to read as follows:
Section 5. Whereas, senior citizens have taken pleasure in feeding crows during the winter within the area of Bishop's Beach City Park, and this occasional activity has not created and offensive nuisance to the City, so therefore it should be understood that this activity will be permitted.
Section 2. This ordinance is of a permanent and general character and shall be included in the City Code.
