ORDINANCE 07-43(S)

OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING AN ALASKA DIVISION OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (DHS&EM) GRANT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $35,000.00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ALMR (ALASKA LAND MOBILE RADIO) COMPATIBLE RADIO EQUIPMENT UPGRADES FOR THE HOMER POLICE DEPARTMENT AND NEW RADIOS FOR THE HOMER VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the City of Homer to enhance the ability to prepare for, prevent, and respond to terrorist attacks and other all-hazards events; and

WHEREAS, Funding from this grant will be used towards upgrades to the ALMR compatible radio equipment for the Homer Police Department and new radios for the Homer Volunteer Fire Department.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

Section 1. That the City Council hereby accepts and appropriates a DHS&EM Grant of $35,000.00 for ALMR Compatible Radio Equipment Upgrades as follows:

Section 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.

Section 3. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
