ORDINANCE 08-07

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA AMENDING THE FY 2008 BUDGET BY AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $15,000.00 FROM CITY HALL RECYCLING FUND TO THE SUSTAINABILITY FUND.

WHEREAS, The City of Homer adopted a local Climate Action Plan on December 10, 2007 via Resolution 07-106(A); and

WHEREAS, The City of Homer created a Sustainability Fund within the City's schedule of funds via Resolution 08-07(A) on January 14, 2008; and

WHEREAS, The City of Homer has shown a willingness to expend monies for the purposes of achieving energy cost reductions in City facilities that coincide with the goals of the Climate Action Plan, and

WHEREAS, A sum of money was allocated for such purposes in the 2008 budget prior to creating the Sustainability Fund, and

WHEREAS, It is desirable to establish a track record of funding that account.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF HOMER ORDAINS:

Section 1. That the City Council hereby amends the FY 2008 Budget by authorizing the transfer of funds from the Recycling Fund to the Sustainability Fund in the amount of $15,000.00:

Section 2. This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non code ordinance.
