AN ORDINANCE OF THE
WHEREAS,
The Homer Police Department has received three grants from the State of
WHEREAS, The grants are for seatbelt enforcement activities in the amount of $11,583.80, DUI enforcement in the amount of $25,211.80 and funding to purchase two new radar guns and train one police officer to be a traffic radar instructor in the amount of $6,716.00; and
WHEREAS,
The purpose of the grants is to reduce deaths and
injuries caused by impaired drivers, to increase compliance with
Section 1. That the City Council hereby accepts and appropriates Alaska Highway Safety Program grants for seat belt enforcement, DUI enforcement, and two New Radar Guns and Radar Instructor Training as follows and hereby authorizes the City Manager or his designee to execute the appropriate documents:
