ORDINANCE 08-51(A)(S)

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF HOMER, ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING AN ALASKA ENERGY AUTHORITY (AEA) GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $31,200 FOR PRE-CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE HOMER WATER MAIN HYDROPOWER PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTS.

            WHEREAS, The State of Alaska, Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority, Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) has awarded a grant in the amount of $31,200 to the City of Homer to be applied towards the Homer Water Main Hydro Project for pre-construction services; and

            WHEREAS, The City of Homer, Alaska, must execute the grant agreement and thereby agree to the terms and conditions of the grant (including the responsibility for matching the grant amount with City funds), and adhere to any governing state regulations; and

            WHEREAS, The City of Homer, Alaska, agrees to operate and maintain the completed project constructed with said grant.

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City of Homer:

Section 1. That the City of Homer formally accepts the Alaska Energy Authority grant in the amount of $31,200 as follows:

Section 2. That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the appropriate documents.

Section 3.    This ordinance is a budget amendment only, is not of a permanent nature and is a non-code ordinance.
