AN
ORDINANCE OF THE
WHEREAS, The Harbor Tug was scheduled for maintenance this year and the City Council approved $9,208 in the FY 2009 Operating Budget, Port and Harbor Reserves, for that purpose; and
WHEREAS, While the vessel was in the shop, a serious electrolysis problem was discovered involving the D rubber fendering system which essentially made the vessel unfit for duty; and
WHEREAS, The Harbor Tug is an emergency response vessel and repairing it immediately was essential; and
WHEREAS, Repairing the tug immediately also saved money because it made the most efficient use of the contractor’s time and shop rental fees.
NOW,
THEREFORE, THE
Section 1: The Homer City Council hereby amends the FY 2009 Operating Budget, Port and Harbor Reserves, by appropriating an additional $8,748.91 for the Harbor Tug Refit Project as follows:
